Important Disclaimer — Please Read Carefully

This website provides estimates only. All calculations are for informational and educational purposes. This website does not provide financial advice, legal advice, tax advice, or any other professional advice. The information on this website is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified professional.

1. No Financial, Legal, or Tax Advice

The calculators, tools, blog articles, and all other content on StudLoanCalc ("the Service") are provided for general informational purposes only. The Service does not constitute:

  • Financial advice or financial planning
  • Legal advice regarding your loan obligations or rights
  • Tax advice regarding the tax treatment of loan forgiveness
  • Official guidance from the U.S. Department of Education or any loan servicer
  • A recommendation to take (or refrain from taking) any specific financial action

You should consult with a certified financial planner, student loan counselor, tax professional, or attorney before making decisions based on the estimates provided by this Service.

2. Accuracy of Calculations

While we make reasonable efforts to keep our formulas accurate and current with 2026 U.S. federal student aid regulations, we make no representations or warranties about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or suitability of the calculations. Factors that can cause actual results to differ include:

  • Changes in your income (IDR payments are recertified annually)
  • Interest capitalization events not modeled by the calculator
  • Changes in federal regulations after our last review date (June 2026)
  • Individual circumstances such as marriage, consolidation, or loan status changes
  • Servicer-specific calculation differences

Your actual monthly payment, total interest, and forgiveness eligibility are determined exclusively by your loan servicer and the U.S. Department of Education.

3. No Guarantee of PSLF or Forgiveness Eligibility

Our PSLF Estimator provides rough estimates based on the inputs you provide. It does not verify:

  • Whether your employer qualifies as a PSLF-eligible employer
  • Whether you meet the full-time employment requirement
  • Whether your past payments count as qualifying payments
  • Whether you are eligible for TEPSLF or other expanded forgiveness programs
  • The accuracy of MOHELA's payment count

PSLF qualification is determined solely by MOHELA and the U.S. Department of Education. Use the official PSLF Help Tool for official guidance.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, StudLoanCalc and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this Service — including but not limited to financial losses resulting from reliance on calculator estimates or blog content.

5. Regulatory Basis

All calculations are based on the 2026 U.S. Federal Student Aid regulations as published by the U.S. Department of Education. Policy parameters are subject to change. See our Methodology page for details on which regulations inform each calculator.

6. Advertising Disclosure

StudLoanCalc may display advertisements (e.g., Google AdSense). Advertising revenue supports the free operation of this site. Advertisements are not endorsements, and we are not responsible for the content of advertised products or services.

7. Intellectual Property

All original content on StudLoanCalc — including calculator logic, blog articles, and site design — is protected by copyright. You may use the calculators freely for personal use. Redistribution or commercial reproduction of site content requires permission.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
