Our Privacy Promise

StudLoanCalc is designed from the ground up to protect your privacy. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have any access to the data you enter into our calculators. All calculations are performed entirely within your web browser using client-side JavaScript. Your loan information never leaves your device.

What Data We Collect

We collect NO personal data. Specifically:

  • No accounts: There is no registration or login system.
  • No form submissions: None of the data you type into the calculators is sent to any server.
  • No email collection: We don't ask for your email address.
  • No cookies (from us): We don't set any first-party cookies for tracking or identification.
  • No analytics: We do not use Google Analytics or any other user-tracking service.

Local Browser Storage

If you use the Loan Log feature to save loan scenarios, that data is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. This data:

  • Stays on your device only
  • Is never uploaded to any server
  • Can be deleted at any time using the "Clear All Scenarios" button in the Loan Log tab
  • Is automatically removed if you clear your browser data

To view or manage localStorage data, use your browser's Developer Tools (F12 → Application → Local Storage).

Third-Party Services

StudLoanCalc loads the following third-party resource:

  • Chart.js (from cdn.jsdelivr.net): A JavaScript charting library used to display loan data visualizations. The CDN provider may log standard web server access data (IP address, user agent). We do not send any of your loan data to Chart.js or jsDelivr — chart rendering happens entirely in your browser after the library is loaded.

If we add advertising (e.g., Google AdSense) in the future, this policy will be updated and the privacy implications explained. Ad networks may use their own cookies for ad personalization.

Data Security

Since no user data is collected or transmitted, there is no central database to breach. Your calculations exist only in your browser's memory during your session. The HTTPS encryption on our site protects the page content as it travels between our server and your browser, but again — your loan data is never part of that transmission.

Children's Privacy

StudLoanCalc is not directed at children under 13. Since student loans are generally held by adults aged 18+, our tool is designed for adult borrowers and their families.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Because we don't collect contact information, we cannot notify you individually of changes.
